This fall I was one of 20 photographers from around the world to attend a wedding photography workshop in Venice, Italy.  The workshop was hosted by Yervant", an Australian photographer who has hosted seminars around the Globe.  I was one of three photographers formt he United States, and the workshop truly gave me an international perspective on wedding photography.  This workshop provided me the opportunity to create romantic images of Brides and Grooms in the most romantic city of the world.  The workshop finished with a tour of Graphi Studio in Arba, Italy where they manufacture The Wedding Book and gave me the opportunity to speak with the employees that produce the wedding albums for our customers.  I hope you enjoy some of the images from my Venice Experience, and please feel free to leave your comments.

JOE DEFABIS TO ATTEND VENICE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH YERVANT

 Sunday October 8 - Friday Octov=ber 15 I will be attending a photographic workshop in Venice Italy.  The workshop is only open to 20 photographers from around the world and will be conducted by internationally known photographer YERVANT.  This opportunity was only open to 20 photographers worldwide and I am honored to be included in this workshop.

The 6 day workshop will feature photo shoots, tours of Venice, and digital enhancement techniques used by Yervant.

Watch my blog, we will be updating it nightly.... and even include some of the Italian Brides we will be photographing. 

OK I have been asked by some of the photographers who have taken some of my classes for "inspirational" photos from some of my assignments.  I'm sorry I have  neglected to do that, so here ya go.. Here are some of the memorable images from the wedding I photographed for Alicia and Jason Friday night.

Oak Hill Mansion was the setting Friday night for Alicia and Jason's Wedding.  One of my favorite places to photograph a wedding!  

Here are a few of my personal favorites from the wedding and as you can see from the images Oak Hill Mansion was a most elegant setting and the guests were all smiles as everyone seemed to have a very good time.  The staircase hoto was taken with available light, hand held using 2.8 aperture priority.  blur filter was used to creating motion of the bride walking up the steps.  The second Bride and Groom photo was taken at dusk and dragging the shutter as we talked about in class.  The third is a candid photo, flash on camera dn the expression on this lady's face seemed to sum up what a good time everyone was having.  Sb800 flash at 5.6 1/30th second.  The flower girl photo was taken with available light using the Kodak 14N, yes I still use it for it's awesome color.
