My latest Limited Edition Racing Art piece is of Danica Patrick. This piece will be offered at Penrod along with my other pieces on September 8, 2007 at the Penrod Art Fair on the grounds of the IMA Write Comment
Penrod always picks the nicest day of the year weather wise and has live entertainment, refreshments and hundreds of artists on the beautiful Indianapolis Art Museum grounds. This year though, you need to make sure that you make a pit stop at one on the hottest new artists taking Penrod to Victory Lane! Joe DeFabis, of DeFabis Photography in Indianapolis, will for the first time ever highlight his Limited Edition racing art at the 41st Annual Penrod festival on Saturday September 8th.
Do you have a favorite racing series (IRL, NASCAR, USAC Midgets, Sprints, Silver Crown or Quarter Midgets) or a favorite driver (Franchitti, Stewart, Schumacher…)? Joe has them all and has captured them in an astounding array of color, sizes, and textures to highlight any decorating scheme. The extensive available collection past and present
coupled by the individual choice of technique, canvas and display is unprecedented. His recent State Fair entry, “Speed of Light” with Lewis Hamilton winner of the 2007 U.S. Grand Prix won first place and will be highlight at Penrod.
DeFabis photography has been a recognized leader in Indianapolis Wedding Photography for over 20 years. His innovative photojournalistic images, whether portrayed in modern black and white or with traditional prints bursting with color all bear the unmistakable DeFabis quality. His dedication to masterfully blending the most popular photographic style to each individual’s needs using the latest digital technology has provided the opportunity for dozens of prestigious awards and thousands of satisfied customers.
Joe DeFabis has also been a true diehard open-wheel racing fan for over 40 years. His racing fan career, from daily long walks to the track at age 12 to being on the Indy 500 starting Grid as a crew member for Larry McCoy in 1975 continues as he know focuses on capturing each driver, each exciting moment, each thrill of victory and each agony of defeat through the lens. Joe’s love for the sport is clearly visible in each photographic and artistic impression he creates. Through perfected photographic technique enhancements, Joe brings the racing print to life for the viewer to relish the experience over and over again.
Look for the checkered flag and make your best Penrod Pit stop with DeFabis Photography!
Here is my first sample of an autograph card ordered by Chuck Gurney Jr. Chuck is the son of USAC open wheel champion Chuck Gurney and the Grandson of Bob Laycock, longtime USAC fan, official and supporter.
If you are at a racetrack soon, ask Chuck to autograph one of his "DeFabis" limited edition cards
Here is a special piece just created for Penrod Art Fair on Saturday, September 8th. This rendering is a shot during the 2007 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard as Reed Sorensen, the pole sitter makes his first pit stop of the day.
The effect was made by blending layers, changing the layer mode and using a custom filter and frames to highlite the right rear tire changer. I would love to hear from my fellow motorsports photographers who would be interested in attending a seminar specific for Motorsports Photography. If I have enought interest, I will schedule a workshop this fall.
This print measures 18 x 24 inches and printed on canvas and will be offered for $499.00 US
Last night, after his win at the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, I was happy to present Tony Stewart one of my Limited Edition Racing Prints. during a private "Victory Celebration". As all of you know, I have photographed nearly 1,000 weddings in my 20 year career, but never have I seen such a lovely Bride as Terri!
